Yantai's county-level city of Longkou hosted an international precision procurement event on May 17 and 18, drawing over 130 buyers from 38 countries to engage with more than 140 local enterprises. They showed significant interest in Yantai's distinctive products like apples, processed foods, and engineering machinery.
Over the course of two days, the event proved very fruitful. On the morning of May 17, 231 intended orders amounting to $5.98 million were secured. From the afternoon of May 17 to the morning of May 18, additional intended orders totaling $2.61 million were achieved after buyers conducted on-site visits to Yantai enterprises.
The renowned Yantai apple, China's top fruit brand, saw remarkable success with 38 procurement contracts totaling $637,900 in intended transactions.
Sun Huimin, a sales representative from Lvjie, an apple cider vinegar producer in Yantai, highlighted the product's high popularity abroad, fostering a deep connection between Yantai and international buyers.
"Yantai's machinery industry base boasts advanced technology and robust production capacity, meeting our diversified trade needs. We will leverage this opportunity to explore more cooperation possibilities," said a buyer from Uzbekistan.
The success of this procurement event signifies a transition from facilitating companies' global expansion to orchestrating on-site procurement, further broadening Yantai's path to openness.
