A promotional conference for the sixth Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF) was held in Cannes, France, on May 15 (local time), sending out invitations to filmmakers from China and overseas to attend the 6th HIIFF this year.
The festival's organizing committee introduced the development of HIIFF and the current situation of China's film market to nearly 100 Chinese and foreign film workers on-site, and showed the urban development of Sanya, HIIFF's host site, through video materials.
The China-France Film Exhibition was also unveiled by the HIIFF, Unifrance and the China Film Co-Production Corporation.
Themed activities such as the China-France Film Exchange and Cooperation Forum and the China-France Film Exhibition will be held during this year's event.
A representative of HIIFF's organizing committee said that as the youngest international film festival in China, HIIFF is committed to international film cultural exchange and cooperation, promoting the film industry's prosperity and development.
In addition, HIIFF is expected to give full play to the policy advantages of Hainan Free Trade Port and the resource advantages of Hainan as a "natural studio" to strengthen the film communication and cooperation between China and other countries around the world.
