On May 16, a calligraphy exchange event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia was held at Yannan Primary School in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province.

Over 20 Malaysian calligraphers joined local calligraphers from Xi'an in visiting Yannan Primary School, where they enjoyed the spectacular performances and got to see excellent calligraphy works that were meticulously created by the students.

The president of the Calligraphy Society of Malaysia shared how calligraphy spread to and developed in Malaysia, allowing the students present to deeply appreciate the allure of Chinese calligraphy art as it ventures beyond national borders.

Aside from the captivating choir performance, dancing routines, and the group gymnastics show, the event also featured exhibition areas showcasing traditional Chinese tea art experiences and intangible cultural heritage displays.

Lum Wan Liang, consul general of the Malaysian Consulate General in Xi'an, expressed, "The enduring friendship between China and Malaysia is strengthened through this calligraphy-themed event. "

Shi Ruifang, vice chairman of the Shaanxi Calligrapher's Association and chairman of the Xi'an Calligrapher's Association, stated, "This event not only promotes exchanges and cooperation within the calligraphy circles of both countries, but also injects new vitality into the development of China-Malaysia relations."
