Qingdao FTZ speeds up advanced manufacturing industry

Gao Shanwu, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Qingdao West Coast New Area and director of the Qingdao Free Trade Zone Administration Committee visited Lovol Heavy Industry Co Ltd and SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) Qingdao Branch on May 9.

During his visit, Gao emphasized accelerating innovation throughout the industry chain, cultivating new productive forces, and driving digital upgrades and enterprise transformation through technological innovation, facilitating continuous exploration of new development areas.

SGMW Qingdao Branch is dedicated to building a new energy intelligent manufacturing center. It plans to strengthen its position in the industrial chain by utilizing the Qingdao FTZ's resources, exploring new vehicle export models, boosting production shares of new and high-end models, optimizing product structure, introducing fashionable products, and speeding up product iteration.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Qingdao West Coast New Area and the 5th anniversary of the Qingdao FTZ. "The zone will enhance advanced manufacturing, particularly in the equipment and automobile sectors, by optimizing industry structure and advancing digitization and intelligent upgrades", said Gao.
