A delegation from the Xi'an municipal government recently visited Kragujevac, Serbia, one of its sister cities, in response to an invitation from Kragujevac Mayor Nikola Dasic.
During the visit, the delegation participated in a Kragujevac City Day event, and the two cities signed a memorandum of understanding to deepen friendly cooperation and exchanges.
Approximately 200 representatives from nine cities in eight countries participated in the event. The Xi'an delegation engaged in in-depth discussions with various officials in Kragujevac on topics of mutual interest.
The delegation also established connections with city representatives from Greece, Germany, Romania, the Czech Republic, and other countries participating in the event. They shared experiences and insights on sister city exchanges and cooperation. This has expanded Xi'an's international circle of friends and laid a solid foundation for exploring new channels for future exchanges and cooperation.
Kragujevac is the fourth largest city in Serbia. In June 2016, Xi'an and Kragujevac officially became sister cities.
In recent years, cultural exchanges between the two cities have become increasingly enhanced. These frequent exchanges have led to positive outcomes in various fields such as tourism, sports, and education.
