Nanhua plums gain popularity across China

In the season of abundant harvest in southern China, the Nanhua plums in Xinyi city have started hitting the market, and the fruit farmers are busy picking.

The market debut of Nanhua plums has sparked a buying frenzy. Influencers are also flocking to the orchards to livestream to promote sales. With excellent quality, Nanhua plums are favored by customers across China, leading to booming sales both online and offline.

Nanhua plums are also gaining popularity due to their diverse ways of consumption. Stir-frying them after removing the pits has become a trendy dish online.

After 40 years of development, the cultivation of Nanhua plums in Xinyi has reached a production volume of 14,300 metric tons this year, with a value exceeding 100 million yuan ($13.8 million).

By implementing scientific cultivation methods such as pruning and thinning, the quality of Nanhua plums has been further enhanced, establishing itself as another prominent brand in Xinyi.

Expanding sales channels through live streaming and other methods has helped Nanhua plums sell at higher prices and contribute to rural vitalization in Xinyi.
