In December last year, the Guizhou Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology designated Guiyang as a pilot city for the transfer of the electronic information manufacturing industry in Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The main pilot areas for receiving the transfer of the electronic information manufacturing industry are Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone, Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Guizhou Wudang Economic Development Zone, and Huaxi Industrial Park, with a total industrial cluster area of 75.64 square kilometers.
Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone will mainly receive the transfer of manufacturing of smart terminals (televisions), servers, electronic components, etc; Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone will receive the transfer of manufacturing of chips and electronic components; Guizhou Wudang Economic Development Zone will receive the manufacturing of electronic components; and Huaxi Industrial Park will receive the transfer of manufacturing of circuit boards.
The electronic information manufacturing industry is a pillar industry for Guiyang's industrial development. In 2023, the output value of the electronic information manufacturing industry in Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area accounted for 30 percent of the province's electronic information manufacturing industry above a designated scale.
In the future, Guiyang will accelerate efforts to receive the transfer of domestic and foreign manufacturers, especially from the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions, focusing on introducing green and low-carbon enterprises with low resource consumption, small environmental impact, high technological content, good output benefits, and sustainable development.
Guiyang will accelerate the innovation of institutional mechanisms and improve its policy system. Taking the construction of pilot industrial parks for receiving manufacturing transfers as an opportunity, Guiyang will explore the construction of "enclave industrial parks" to extend, strengthen, and enhance industrial chains.
