Jinan hosts private enterprises symposium

Jinan hosted the 2024 Jinan private enterprises symposium on May 8, with representatives of private entrepreneurs offering suggestions and recommendations on the current challenges facing enterprises and how to promote high-quality development of the private economy.

For example, representatives from fields such as new materials, artificial intelligence, and biomedicine focused on specific industry planning and supportive policy formulation, proposing suggestions to open up new areas and opportunities for Jinan's private economy.

"I suggest the government increase support for innovation, especially in basic research and academic research," said Chen Zichun, chairman of Shandong Jianbang Colloid Materials Co, a high-tech enterprise specializing in the research, production, and sales of high-end electronic materials.

High-quality development of the private economy requires high-quality platforms. "I suggest building a headquarters base for the private economy in Jinan Start-up Area for Growth Drivers Transformation to better attract high-quality private enterprise headquarters," said Yang Mingbo, chairman of Shandong Fangyuan Shiye Group.

During the symposium, representatives of private entrepreneurs also introduced enterprise project construction and development.

"Taishan Steel is implementing a major project for the transformation of high-quality steel. We aim to achieve first-class technology, equipment, products, and management," said Wang Yongsheng, chairman of Shandong Taishan Steel Group.

The group will fully promote the construction of a project this year focusing on the green transformation of high-quality steel, which has an investment of 3.7 billion yuan ($512.01 million). After the project is put into production, it will fill the gap in the production of electrical steel in the province and make up for the shortage of automotive steel in Shandong, providing solid support for Jinan's high-end manufacturing industrial chain.
