Arthur Williams, the Jamaican ambassador to China, visited Taishan University in Tai'an, Shandong province, and signed a memorandum of cultural and educational cooperation with the university recently.
During the meeting, Peng Shuzhen, president of Taishan University said that the university is willing to cooperate with Jamaican universities in various fields such as joint talent cultivation, co-construction of research platforms, and cultural exchanges. Peng also laid expectations on expanding the university's cooperation and exchanges with Jamaican universities with the support of the Jamaican Embassy in China.
Williams said that the Jamaican Embassy in China will actively promote the establishment of comprehensive connections between Taishan University and Jamaican universities, and carry out practical cooperation in areas such as faculty and student exchanges, and scientific research.
Both sides have also reached cooperation intentions in various aspects, including Sino-Jamaican cultural exchanges, Jamaican youth visits to China and study abroad matters, the establishment of an inter-school exchange cooperation platform between Taishan University and the University of Technology Jamaica, and joint research on the world cultural and natural heritage of "China's Mount Tai" and "Jamaica's Blue Mountains".
