In 2015, the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) established the General Aviation and Satellite Industrial Park, and completed production on the state-of-the-art hardware facilities of the Wuhan Hannan General Airport.
The zone successfully hosted two editions of the World Fly-In Expo and the parachuting competition of the seventh CISM Military World Games. It has also attracted numerous well-known industry enterprises to settle in, forming a distinctive industrial base.
The low-altitude economy has gradually emerged over the last few years, showing immense potential, and WEDZ is seizing opportunities and taking off.
The low-altitude economy does not only signify drone flights themselves. As an economic form, it is a concept covering the entire industrial chain, including low-altitude manufacturing, low-altitude flights, low-altitude support, and comprehensive services.
According to Li Lingling, secretary-general of the Hubei Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Association, the low-altitude manufacturing industry is the cornerstone of the low-altitude economy.
