On May 6, the Xi'an exit and entry administration bureau officially launched five new measures to streamline entry and exit procedures, further facilitating the movement of individuals and enhancing Xi'an's high level of opening-up.
1. Online application for replacement and reissuance of entry and exit documents
Starting from May 6, the National Immigration Administration initiated a pilot program in 20 cities, including Beijing and Xi'an, to allow for the replacement and reissuance of entry and exit documents through online platforms.
With the implementation of this new convenient measure, Xi'an residents aged 16 and above (excluding national officials and active-duty military personnel) can now apply for the replacement and reissuance of regular passports, permits for Hong Kong and Macao, and permits for Taiwan on the National Immigration Administration's online platform.
For applications that meet the requirements, the Xi'an exit and entry administration bureau will process and issue the documents within seven working days, offering both mailing and in-person collection options.
2. Nationwide application for entry to Hong Kong and Macao for business purposes
Chinese mainland residents applying for entry to Hong Kong and Macao for business purposes can submit their applications at any public security bureau's entry and exit management window nationwide. For those who wish to apply for multiple-entry, they can utilize smart visa devices for instant processing.
3. Extension of stay duration in Hong Kong and Macao for business purposes
Following the new measures, Chinese mainland residents who are in Hong Kong and Macao for business purposes will see their maximum stay duration extended from seven days to 14 days per visit.
4. Issuance of one-year multiple-entry to Macao for "other" purposes
Chinese mainland residents traveling to Macao for exhibitions, medical purposes, or artistic performances can apply for a one-year multiple-entry at any public security bureau's entry and exit window nationwide with relevant supporting documents. For those traveling for medical purposes, they are allowed to apply for one to two accompanying persons.
5. Multiple entries to and from Macao for participants in Hengqin-Macao tour groups
Chinese mainland residents participating in Hengqin-Macao tour groups can apply for group tourist entry with a Hengqin-Macao tour group mark at any public security bureau nationwide as long as they bring supporting group participation materials. Upon entering Macao, group members can make multiple round trips between Hengqin and Macao within seven days through the tour group model at Hengqin Port.
