Sanya sees tourism boom in May Day holiday

Sanya's scenic spots and coconut-grade rural tourism sites received a total of 297,200 visitors during the first three days of the May Day holiday, which ran from May 1 to 5.

The occupancy rate of guest rooms was high, with Yalong Bay at 85.57 percent and Haitang Bay at 86.62 percent on the first day of the holiday. Various hotels have launched themed activities such as food festivals, music festivals, and intangible cultural heritage experiences to enrich the accommodation experience for visitors.

Attraction sites like Tianya Haijiao and Luhuitou, which offered free admissions during the five-day holiday, experienced a slight increase in visitor numbers. On May 1, the Tianya Haijiao scenic area saw a 105.14 percent increase year-on-year, while the Luhuitou scenic area saw a 39.89 percent increase year-on-year.
