During the just-concluded May Day holiday, Qingyan Ancient Town in Huaxi district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was selected as one of the top 10 most popular ancient villages and towns, according to Mafengwo, a Chinese online travel platform.
Mafengwo also unveiled multiple lists regarding tourism over the holiday. Guiyang secured the 10th sport on the list of popular cities during the May Day holiday. On the list of popular cities for night tours and driving, Guiyang ranked eighth and 17th, respectively. In terms of the development of parent-child tours, Guiyang ranked 17th with 55-percent growth.
In addition, with the increasing popularity of outdoor activities, more and more people are choosing destinations that enable them to experience hiking, diving, riding, surfing, cave exploration and more. In this way, Guizhou, a mountainous province, became the third most popular province for outdoor activities during the holiday.
