Chinese vehicle maker Geely cut its vehicles' life-cycle emissions in 2023 by 12 percent compared with the figure in the base year 2020, according to its environmental, social and governance report.

The company said it aims to slash the figure to 25 percent by 2025 and to become carbon neutral by 2045.

Technological and product innovation is the key driver of its sustainable development, said Geely. Last year, the carmaker launched 13 new energy vehicle models, bearing marques from Lynk & Co to Zeekr.

Its total NEV deliveries hit 487,000 units in 2023, up 48 percent year-on-year. They accounted for 29 percent of the carmaker's total sales in the year.

In terms of production, power consumption and greenhouse gas emissions per vehicle in 2023 fell 13.98 percent and 53.66 percent compared with those in 2020.

Currently, a total of six vehicle plants are using only renewable electricity. The number of carbon-zero plants went up to three by the end of 2023, according to its report.
