Anu Rathninde, president of Johnson Controls Asia-Pacific, based in the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District, underscored the significance of the Chinese market in a recent interview with China News Service.

"Despite the ongoing challenges in the complex global business environment and the uncertainties affecting every crucial decision for companies, the Chinese market remains one of the most important markets for Johnson Controls," said Rathninde.

He emphasized that China's promotion of new quality productive forces, green innovation, intelligent manufacturing, digital economy, and policies aimed at expanding openness and optimizing the business environment align perfectly with Johnson Controls' strategy, providing a fertile ground for foreign investment development. "We are confident in the long-term and stable development in China," continued Rathninde.

Johnson Controls has been in the Chinese market for nearly 30 years, focusing on smart, healthy, and sustainable building solutions. Rathninde also said that China's active and steady progress towards carbon peaking and carbon neutrality aligns closely with Johnson Controls' sustainable development strategy.

Rathninde highlighted the mutually beneficial relationship between the Chinese market and Johnson Controls. Currently, nine out of the top 10 tallest buildings in China utilize building solutions provided by Johnson Controls.

In December last year, Rathninde was honored with the Shanghai Magnolia Silver Award, a recognition for outstanding foreign individuals, which further bridges not only his connection with China, but also Johnson Controls' proximity to the Chinese market.

Johnson Controls has been participating in the China International Import Expo (CIIE) for six consecutive years, and has already signed up for the seventh edition. Rathninde stated, "We have full confidence in the CIIE and the vitality and positive effects it can unleash."

As they deeply cultivate the Chinese market, Johnson Controls' development strategy relies heavily on localization. Currently, the company's heating, ventilation, and air conditioning products are 100 percent locally produced. Additionally, 70 percent of the products manufactured in local factories are sold domestically, with plans to expand globally.
