Nantong in Jiangsu province received nearly 2.75 million visitors, up 33.52 percent year-on-year, during the five-day May Day holiday which ended on May 5.
The expenditure in travel consumption in the city amounted to about 1.44 billion yuan ($198.89 million), an increase of 28.1 percent from the previous year during the same period.
The city's top 10 popular scenic spots during the holiday were Langshan Mountain, Haohe River, Nantong Forest Safari Park, Xiaoyangkou, Bencha Ancient Town, Qitang City, Zhouji Menghuan Island, Zhouji Green Expo Park, Shuihui Garden, and the Bihai Yinsha scenic area.
