Quzhou fosters new quality productive forces

Quzhou in Zhejiang province has in recent years been making efforts to pursue scientific and technological innovation in an attempt to foster new quality productive forces.

In 2022, local authorities initiated a comprehensive program to enhance the integration of the supply chain, innovation chain, talent chain, funding chain, and service chain, aiming to build a solid industrial foundation and driving force for the development of new and high-quality productive forces.

The local government has been steadfast in expanding its six key industrial chains, with a particular focus on new materials, new energy, integrated circuits, intelligent equipment, life and health, and specialty paper. Significant attention has been given to the development of the new materials and new energy sectors.

Quzhou is working to attract top-tier projects in areas such as lithium battery new materials, semiconductor chips, photovoltaic cells, and perovskite batteries to bolster its modern industrial ecosystem.

Furthermore, authorities are committed to attracting and retaining high-caliber talent. In 2023, the city successfully recruited renowned academician teams led by experts like Chen Jianfeng, Xu Nanping, and Sun Shigang.

The city has established cutting-edge research institutes specializing in new materials, membrane materials, and high-end electronic chemicals, further enhancing its position as a hub for innovation and technological advancement.
