Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, has launched its 2024 series of fitness activities, with over 80 sporting events to be held throughout the year.
The launch ceremony took place on the north square of the Jinan Olympic Sports Center on April 27. A wide range of sporting events, including track and field events, swimming, and chess and cards, will be held.
This initiative aims to promote the deep integration of commerce, culture, tourism and sports, bringing about new experiences for the public.
A total of 68 individual sports associations, clubs, and inheritors of sports intangible cultural heritage in Jinan participated in the fair, with a diverse range of interactive experiential activities held. From pickleball and frisbee to golf, bowling, shooting, archery and radio orienteering, these activities, which previously required specialized venues, are now readily accessible at the market.
At the fair, the sports associations and clubs also prepared a variety of gifts and souvenirs, providing people with delightful surprises while they experience various sports activities and enjoy spectacular performances.
In recent years, Jinan has been committed to meeting the diverse sports-related needs of the public, enhancing sports consumption, and introducing new ways to spend money on sports. By integrating the city's tourism resources with high-quality sports activities, the city aims to allow more people to enjoy the pleasure of sports and experience the vitality of the city.
