Alshaa League's economy saw a solid start in the first quarter of this year, showing steady progress and improvement. The region's GDP reached 9.83 billion yuan ($1.36 billion), indicating a year-on-year increase of 9.9 percent and ranking first in Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
Specifically, the added value of its primary industry was 1.1 billion yuan, up 5.1 percent year-on-year; the added value of its secondary industry was 62.5 billion yuan, up 16.9 percent year-on-year; and the added value of its tertiary industry was 34.8 billion yuan, up 0.6 percent year-on-year.
The added value of industrial enterprises above a designated scale in the league increased by 22.7 percent year-on-year, accelerating by 0.9 percentage points compared to January-February. This ranked first in the autonomous region in terms of growth rate.
In January-February, the league's industrial enterprises above a designated scale achieved an operating income of 10.79 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.7 percent. This resulted in a total profit of 380 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 9.5 percent.
In the first quarter, the per capita disposable income of all residents in the entire league reached 13,655 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.7 percent. Once broken down, the per capita disposable income of urban residents in the league was 14,775 yuan, up 4.5 percent year-on-year, while the per capita disposable income of rural and pastoral residents was 9,708 yuan, up 5.5 percent year-on-year.
