The recruiting payment saw a slight increase in China's major cities in the first quarter, according to a recent report by the recruitment portal Zhaopin.
The report said that in 38 major cities such as Beijing and Shanghai, the recruiting payment was 10,323 yuan ($1,425) per month on average in the first quarter of the platform. The number slightly dropped by 0.9 percent from the previous quarter, while marking an increase of 2.2 percent year-on-year.
Shanghai offers the highest recruiting payment — 13,617 yuan per month, among the 38 major cities over the quarter, which is followed by Beijing — 13,316 yuan per month and Shenzhen, in the southern province of Guangdong, 12,751 yuan per month.
Finance-related industries including securities, banking and insurance are most alluring to jobseekers in the first quarter, with companies in the sector offering monthly salaries of over 11,000 yuan on average. For example, job openings on funds and securities offered 13,374 yuan per month for new recruits in the first quarter, according to the report.
Vacancies in the services sector also saw increasing recruiting salaries at the platform because of people's growing preference for services consumption over the first quarter.
According to the report, recruiting salaries for job openings in hotels and catering industries saw a year-on-year growth of 10.6 percent in the first quarter, and the tourism industry increased recruiting salaries by 9.3 percent on average over the period.
