Regong, in the Tibetan language, means "a golden valley where dreams are fulfilled". The Regong region commands a beautiful view along the Longwu River, in Tongren, Huangnan Tibetan autonomous prefecture of Qinghai province. It is also where generations of Buddhist monks and folk artists have been carrying on a rich tradition collective of arts and crafts known as the Regong arts.

Among these dedicated people of fine workmanship is Luozang Danba who hails from a local family of repute in the preservation of thangka art for centuries, and is a state-level inheritor of the Regong arts.

Over 30 thangka paintings of him are now on show at the Aimer Art gallery in Beijing to present the diversity of thangka art. It also marks the establishment of an intangible cultural heritage committee by the China Culture Promotion Association.
