Rugao Kangci Hospital, established in 2007, has recently been designated as a provincial-level intangible cultural heritage project protection unit by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
Founded by Chen Xiang, a senior traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioner in his sixties, the hospital has become renowned for orthopedics, attracting patients from Shanghai, Zhejiang, Anhui, Inner Mongolia, and beyond.

Bone setting, a traditional Chinese medical technique, involves using methods such as pushing, pulling, pressing, and pinching to treat bone fractures, dislocations, and other bone injuries. It is suitable for patients of all ages and aims to alleviate pain and facilitate rapid recovery. The treatment also involves the application of external Chinese herbal medicine to reduce swelling.
Just a few days ago, a foreign visitor holding Sierra Leone and Netherlands dual citizenship sought treatment at Rugao Kangci Hospital for a fractured left arm. He experienced rapid relief from pain without the need for surgery, expressing amazement at the miraculous effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine.
