The main event of the 2024 International Day for Monuments and Sites in Shandong province was held at Dai Temple in Tai'an on April 16.
During the event, Shandong University (SDU) and the Mount Tai Scenic Area signed a strategic agreement on the protection and research of the world heritage.
The agreement connects the strong research capabilities of SDU with the rich cultural and historical heritage of Mount Tai, aiming to create a model of win-win cooperation for cultural heritage protection in Shandong.
The signing ceremony also included a promotional session for the 2024 Shandong ancient architecture exploration tour. The tour will focus on Confucian buildings such as temples, academies, imperial examination halls, and study halls, exploring representative ancient buildings in Shandong.
Ten major cultural relic protection projects were launched at the ceremony. Sites such as the Qianfo Cliff, Dai Temple, and Mount Tai will undergo renovations in an effort to revitalize them.
