Katsuhito Okuoka, representative director, president and chief operating officer of Japan's CKD Corporation, led a delegation to visit Wuxi National Hi-Tech District, also known as Xinwu district, in Wuxi on April 16.
CKD is a leading enterprise in automatic machinery manufacturing and specializes in the development of pneumatic components. The company will further strengthen cooperation with Xinwu district and introduce more cutting-edge products, said Okuoka. He also commended the complete semiconductor industrial chain and broad development prospects of the industry in Xinwu.
Cui Rongguo, Party secretary of Xinwu, said that the district will continue to provide high-quality services and strong policy support for CKD's projects.
He further elaborated that in 2023, the entire district achieved a regional GDP of 251.57 billion yuan ($34.75 billion), a year-on-year increase of 6.1 percent. The district's intelligent manufacturing capabilities rank first among regions of the same administrative level in Jiangsu. The scale of its integrated circuit industry accounts for one-ninth of China's total, while the comprehensive strength of its new energy industry remains at the forefront in the city. Xinwu's lithium battery sector, in particular, has attracted many high-quality enterprises, projects, and top talents.
In 2003, CKD Corporation established CKD China, the company's largest production base overseas, in Xinwu. The China base has been committed to industrial automation and control as well as pharmaceutical packaging machinery.
