According to data released by the Hohhot municipal bureau of commerce, the Hohhot-Europe (Asia) freight trains achieved a strong start in the first quarter of this year, with a total of 25 trains (including eight return trips), valued at $50.67 million, launched.
These trained carried 2,840 standard containers that weighed 25,300 metric tons.
This volume is 3.2 times higher than the same period last year. The transported goods include barley, electrical appliances, daily necessities, potassium chloride, and sheet metal.
Additionally, the first cross-border e-commerce export train was launched, further expanding international logistics channels for cross-border e-commerce.
Hohhot, capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has actively expanded its train routes, adding four new routes to Kazakhstan's Kokshetau, Astana, Belarus' Kaliningrad, and Krasnoyarsk in Russia this year.
Currently, a total of 12 routes have been opened, weaving a dense network of international channels for Hohhot-Europe (Asia) freight trains.
