GAC Group, a leading automobile manufacturer based in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, unveiled its domestically-developed imageless pure visual intelligent driving system and large capacity all-solid power battery on Friday.
Both technological breakthroughs will be installed on vehicles in 2026, the company announced on its annual Tech Day on Friday, which also showcased the company's multiple advanced technologies including electromagnetic suspension, first-class cabin, intelligent chassis and flying cars.
The imageless pure visual intelligent driving system will be applied to complex and ever-changing scenarios, without requiring high-precision maps and laser radar, according to the company.
Combining visual sensors and industry-leading AI algorithms to perceive the world like humans, the system can achieve a wider range of intelligent driving, with a simpler hardware system, the company said.
The company has preliminarily established the full process manufacturing process of all-solid batteries and has achieved key technological breakthroughs in the mass production of the batteries with vehicle grade, high safety and large capacity.
With three core advantages – ultra-high energy density, ultra-high safety and large capacity all-solid state battery cells, the battery is expected to be installed on the company's new energy brand Hyper in 2026.
Also, Ontime, a mobile transportation service provider affiliated with GAC Group, launched on the Tech Day an autonomous driving data solution with data as the core, driving closed-loop iteration of autonomous driving.
"Evaluating from multiple dimensions such as cost, efficiency and quality, the travel service platform is a high-quality data source that can efficiently promote the development and iteration of intelligent driving," said Song Deqiang, chief technology officer of Ontime.
Ontime, which launched its operation in 2019, has started commercial mixed operation of manned ride hailing and Robotaxi services in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, Guangdong.
