Two bridge-type grab ship unloaders, self-developed and manufactured by Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Group Co (TZCO), set sail from TZCO (Tianjin) Binhai Port on April 11 and began their journey across the seas to countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
These two unloaders feature numerous innovative designs, with their technical parameters and performance indicators reaching internationally advanced levels.
Weighing 1,100 metric tons each, these unloaders measure 82 meters in length and 57 meters in height, with the maximum outreach of their grab buckets totaling 35 meters. Achieving an unloading efficiency of up to 1,500 tons per hour each, both unloaders are being transported as whole units, significantly reducing delivery times and enhancing overall assembly quality.
These unloaders serve as highly efficient, high-capacity port handling equipment that help technical personnel overcome a series of technical challenges, such as complex structures and high precision requirements.
After being manufactured and transported from TZCO's factory in Tianjin, the unloaders only needed to be moved a short distance to reach the port, where they were loaded onto ships and transported directly to their destinations by sea.
To ensure the smooth transportation of these unloaders, TZCO's Binhai branch held a pre-shipment meeting seven days before their journey, where they discussed customs declarations, loading procedures, loading paths, and loading times, conducting multiple simulations for each step before loading the actual equipment.
Meanwhile, the company also coordinated with customs and other port authorities, shipping companies, and production project teams in order to arrange port docking times. By anticipating operational bottlenecks, coordinating factory resources, and optimizing production organization, TZCO completed the roll-on shipment in just one week.
