A delegation of over 40 principals from primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong visited Pingyao in North China's Shanxi province on April 9, to exchange educational experiences and immerse themselves in the rich local culture.
The delegation visited historic sites such as the security escort agencies, ancient banks, and county yamen, appreciating the beauty of traditional Jin-style architecture and savoring local delicacies.
"The high-quality learning and educational environment in Shanxi, coupled with its deep love and inheritance of Chinese traditional culture, left a profound impression on the delegation," said a member of the delegation.
Prior to this, the delegation also visited Qingnianlu Primary School in Taiyuan city, learning about its school club activities, touring its cultural displays, and immersing themselves in its educational atmosphere.
During their visit, the delegation participated in music classes, archery, curling, and other unique club activities alongside the students. They also observed students creating handcrafted sculptures and admired art exhibitions featuring artworks created with Chinese herbal materials.
Members of the delegation expressed their intention to bring what they had learned back to their Hong Kong schools. This includes enhancing education on Chinese traditional culture, enriching teaching content, and promoting students' comprehensive development.
