Lingchuan county

Lingchuan county is located in the northeast of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. The county has the Hunan-Guangxi Railway, Guiyang-Guangzhou High-speed Railway, No. 322 National Highway, Quanzhou–Nanning Expressway, Hengyang–Kunming Expressway and Baotou–Maoming Expressway passing through its territory. Being home to the Guilin West Railway Station, Guilin West Freight Center and Guilin High-speed Railway Station, Lingchuan enables passengers to arrive in provincial capitals including Nanning, Guangzhou, Guiyang and Changsha within two hours. The county incorporates seven towns and five townships, with an administrative area of 2,302 sq km. At the end of 2021, it has 424,500 permanent residents, including 298,800 rural residents. Lingchuan’s ethnic minorities include the Zhuang, Yao, Dong and Hui ethnic groups, with their population totaling 35,900. The county has 13,300 hectares of cultivated land, 22,000 hectares of effectively irrigated farmland, 27,400 hectares of sown area of grain crops, 34,400 hectares of cash crops and 173,000 hectares of forests. The total length of graded highways in Lingshuan stretches for 978.21 kilometers, including 111.09 kilometers of second or higher-level highways. The county has one national AAAAA-level scenic area: the Lijiang River tourism zone; four national AAAA-level scenic spots: the Gudong Waterfall scenic area, the Xiaoyao Lake scenic area, the Dongli Ancient Village scenic area and the Daxu Old Town scenic area; and four national AAA-level tourist attractions: the Jiangtou Ancient Residential Complexes, the Longmen Waterfall scenic area, the former site of the Lumo Village Material Transfer Station at Eighth Route Army’s Guilin Office and the Xiyu Happy Town scenic spot, attracting 8.43 million tourists throughout the year. Important mineral resources in Lingchuan include lead-zinc ore, shale and hematite. Famous local specialties in the county are garlic, moso bamboos, cumquats and ginkgo nuts.

In 2021, the regional output value in Lingchuan reached 19.04 billion yuan ($2.76 billion), with the added value hitting 6 billion yuan, 3.94 billion yuan (including 1.77 billion yuan of industrial added value) and 9.09 billion yuan in the primary, secondary and tertiary industries. The county’s per capita regional gross value of production was 44,900 yuan. It generated a fiscal revenue of 3.27 billion yuan, including 760 million yuan of public budget revenue, and expenditures in its public fiscal budget stood at 3.02 billion yuan. The fixed-asset investment in the county was 11.38 billion yuan. Lingchuan had a retail sales of social consumer goods totaling 14.35 billion yuan, a foreign trade value of 230 million yuan, and an actual use of foreign capital reaching $10,000. The per capita disposable income of urban residents was 41,489 yuan and their per capita consumption expenditure was 22,703 yuan. The per capita disposable income of rural residents was 19,950 yuan and the per capita living expenditure of them was 11,370 yuan. The balance of urban and rural residents’ deposits stood at 21.16 billion yuan.
