New quality productive forces inspire new growth drivers in Wuxi

Wuxi in Jiangsu has in recent years cultivated new industries and new growth drivers with disruptive and cutting-edge technologies, contributing to the blossoming of new quality productive forces this spring.

Compared with traditional productive tools that are driven by elements like labor, land, and capital, new quality productive forces are driven by technological innovation, data, smart or intelligent technologies, and the like.

The "new" industries forces have become part of the life of Wuxi residents.

For example, the creative scale-shaped photovoltaic tiles applied to the Wuxi Symphony Hall are made from special materials which can generate electricity from sunlight.

Furthermore, in 2023, the first commercial intelligent connected vehicles were put into service in the city, forming the largest microcirculation shuttle system featuring automatic driving.

The Shenwei Taihu Light supercomputer at the National Supercomputing Center in Wuxi empowers the development of aerospace, marine environment, and bio-medicine industries with superfast computing power.

In yet another example, the traffic police detachment of Wuxi Public Security Bureau has constructed an "urban traffic brain" by collecting the data from railway, airport, subway, and passenger stations to regulate and control all of the traffic lights and alleviate traffic congestion.
