Tongzhou district in Nantong, Jiangsu province has been accelerating the development of high-tech industries related to auto parts, new-generation of information technology, and intelligent equipment to form a more competitive modern industrial system.
In 2023, the output value of these three industries accounted for 42.1 percent of the total industrial output in the region. The output of 179 newly-recognized high-tech enterprises accounted for 55.1 percent of the total.
Jiangsu Revzone Rail Transportation Equipment Co Ltd is a high-tech enterprise which has operated in Tongzhou district since 2017. Through years of development, the company has become a leader in the field of prefabricated assembly materials for rail transit.
The products developed by the company have been widely used in subways of over 30 cities and the construction of 70 percent of high-speed rails in China.
"We invest more than 4 percent of our annual revenue into research and development," said Dai Qihong, the company's general manager. Additionally, the company has received support from the district government and has established partnerships with universities such as Tongji University and Shanghai Jiaotong University to advance their capacity in R&D for new techniques.
At present, the company's cast-in channel, its primary product, maintains a leading market share in the industry.
To further improve its high-tech industrial chains, Tongzhou continues to attract relevant projects to operate in the region. In late March, deals for 36 high-tech projects were signed in Tongzhou. These projects are expected to promote the development of three major industries in the district.
