Senior (Nantong) Technology Material Co, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shenzhen-based Senior Technology Material Co, has made remarkable achievements since its founding in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area, or NETDA, three years ago.
This year, Senior's annual production of battery diaphragms in Nantong is expected to reach volume of 2 billion square meters, said Xu Liqiang, general manager of Senior (Nantong) Technology Material Co.
Xu added that such achievements would not be possible without local authorities' support and the fifth-generation super-wet production line independently developed by the company.
Competition is quite fierce in battery diaphragms and to occupy a larger market share, a company must produce higher-end products, Xu noted.
Last year, Senior launched its fifth-generation super-wet production line, which was developed by over 200 professionals at the company's headquarters, in Nantong.
By employing digital technologies, the production line boasts high efficiency, high quality, high intelligence, and ultra-low energy consumption, while its products are characterized by high heat and flame resistance.
With these new technologies and products, Senior has expanded its overseas presence, becoming a supplier to multiple vehicle makers globally, according to the general manager.
Xu said that Senior plans to explore and develop more cutting-edge technologies in Nantong, as NETDA and its surrounding areas are home to many science and innovation platforms and the East China R&D center in the city will soon start operating.
