A seminar on the safety of liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipping took place in Qingdao on April 2, co-hosted by the Shandong Maritime Safety Administration, the Qingdao Area of the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone (Qingdao FTZ), and the China Shipowners' Association.
The seminar aimed to facilitate discussions on various aspects of the LNG industry, including management, inspection, ship safety, crew training, and team development.
A key highlight of the event was the introduction of the LNG Shipping Fine Line initiative. This innovative project, developed in collaboration with the Dongjiakou Maritime Bureau, Qingdao FTZ, pilotage services, port dispatch, shipping companies, and cargo owners, focuses on enhancing the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of LNG transportation.
By bringing together expertise and resources from multiple stakeholders, the seminar sought to foster collaboration and the sharing of knowledge to drive advancements in maritime shipping. The collective efforts aim to elevate Shandong as a maritime powerhouse and position Qingdao as a leading global maritime hub.
