Shanghai-based SAS Technology recently broke ground on the first phase of a semiconductor high-end equipment manufacturing project in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area, or NETDA.
With a total investment of $50 million, the project is the second of its kind invested by SAS Technology in the Yangtze River Delta region and is expected to generate over $100 million per year after production commences.
Covering an area of 30,000 square meters, the project is mainly designated for the R&D, manufacturing, and sales of semiconductor wet process equipment and bio-pharmaceutical equipment.
Founded in 2014, SAS Technology engages in serving semiconductor and bio-pharmaceutical industries. Its products are widely applied in the manufacturing of integrated circuits and cell cultivation.
The high-end equipment manufacturing industry is not only one of the key strategic emerging industries in Nantong, but also one of NETDA's pillar industries. The development area aims to form a high-end equipment industrial cluster with a distinct influence in the Yangtze River Delta by 2025.
