Jinan's laser intelligent manufacturing industry gains momentum

A series of customized laser-cutting equipment and intelligent production lines underwent final adjustments before being shipped overseas from Qilu laser intelligent manufacturing industrial park in Shanghe county of Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, on March 28, marking a significant step forward in the global outreach efforts of "Made in China" intelligent manufacturing.

The growth of intelligent manufacturing in the laser sector, a traditionally strong sector in Jinan, has gained momentum thanks to the nation's efforts to develop innovation-based new quality productive forces.

The advent of new technologies has propelled the laser processing industry towards unprecedented levels of intelligence and efficiency. "Since 2020, our company has been independently developing products. The designs are all assisted by CAD on the computer," said Xing Xiaofei, a staff of Shandong Dahang Laser Technology Co. "The current laser technology enables faster cutting speeds and minimal cutting errors. Our machines can control errors within 5 microns, where 100 microns equal 1 millimeter!"

Both China's first laser-cutting machine and the world's first 25,000-watt ultra-high-power laser-cutting machine were developed in Jinan. Consequently, numerous leading enterprises in various industries have expressed interest in setting up operations in Jinan. The industrial park, which was put into operation two years ago, has attracted industry leaders and fostered clustered development.

The city boasts over 300 laser enterprises and has emerged as a crucial domestic base for laser equipment industries.
