The Nantong National High-Tech Indsutrial Development Zone has been actively developing high-tech projects to promote high-quality regional growth.
One of the ongoing projects is a production base for Nantong Hong Yuen Circuit Technology, funded by Dongguan Hong Yuen Electronics Co Ltd. The project has a total investment of 5 billion yuan ($691.01 million), covers an area of 236,000 square meters. It primarily focuses on the design, research, development, production, and sales of various high-end printed circuit boards (PCBs).
Currently, the project has developed six major product categories, including integrated circuit boards, communication products, and automotive sensors, all of which fall within the national encouraged or key supported emerging electronic device industries.
"Packaging substrate is an important material in the integrated circuit industry chain, with the current domestic production rate being less than 10 percent. The Hong Yuen project aims to increase this domestic production rate," said Xiao Jianguang, chief engineer of the project.
As a high-tech electronic manufacturing enterprise producing cutting-edge printed circuit boards (PCBs), Unitech Electronics in the zone is also a leading enterprise in the PCB industry. Its products are mainly used in 5G, digital television, electric vehicles, smart wearable industries, and new energy autonomous vehicles.
Many of the company's clients operate globally, including well-known brands like Huawei, Worldline, and Lenovo. With its R&D capabilities ranking among the top three globally, the company achieved sales of 1.05 billion yuan in 2023. It also invested 40 million yuan in R&D, accounting for about 4 percent of its sales.
