Guiyang sees boost in foreign trade

In 2023, Guiyang Customs strengthened inter-provincial cooperation with Guangzhou Customs by taking the lead in exploring and implementing the "inland to port" collaborative customs clearance model, allowing imports and exports of Guizhou-made products to clear customs more efficiently.

In February, Shenzhen Kaidongyuan Modern Logistics Co has exported 165 Guizhou-made cars worth 18.29 million yuan ($2.53 million) via the China-Europe Railway Express. Chen Zhong, the company's operation director, said that previously, it took 35 to 50 days to export the cars by sea, but now it only takes 15 days by freight train.

In addition, efforts have been made by Guiyang Customs to promote the benefits of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) to enterprises. According to the RCEP agreement, importing enterprises holding certificates are eligible for tariff exemptions, making their exported products for competitively-priced in RCEP member countries. RCEP member countries are important foreign trade markets for Guizhou.

Since the RCEP agreement took effect two years ago, Guiyang Customs has issued RCEP certificates of origin for goods worth 1.15 billion yuan, providing enterprises with approximately 57 million yuan in import tariff exemptions.

Furthermore, Guiyang Customs has also advanced the "smart audit + self-printing" system for enterprises looking to obtain certificates of origin. Over the past two years, 91.8 percent of the certificates of origin were self-printed. This further promotes the efficiency of customs clearance for import and export goods.
