A ceremony marking the start of work on the Mount Tai – Yellow River – Dawen River cultural tourism ecological corridor was held in Tai'an on March 26.

The corridor is a key part of Tai'an's efforts to implement the national Yellow River strategy. It has been included in the pilot project for the construction of the Shandong transportation power demonstration zone and is a key part of Shandong province's "cultural experience corridor".

The corridor, with a total planned length of 777 kilometers, connects Mount Tai, Culai Mountain, Lianhua Mountain, Dawen River, Grand Canal, Dongping Lake, and the Yellow River, linking over 60 scenic spots and attractions. It is designed to create a new model of so-called "holistic tourism" in Tai'an as well as boost the high-quality integrated development of culture and tourism. Additionally, the corridor is an important part of the provincial plan to build a Yellow River estuary corridor.

Zhang Yuhong, deputy director of the Shandong Provincial Department of Transportation, said that the corridor is an important part of the five major tourist roads in the province. The initiative is of great significance to the construction of the three national cultural parks of the Yellow River, the Great Wall of Qi, and the Grand Canal, and will help accelerate Tai'an's integration into the Jinan metropolitan circle.
