The Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently announced the first batch of national smart tourism cultivation pilot projects.
These projects focus on new immersive spaces in the tourism sector. A total of 42 projects were selected nationwide, among which was the SoReal Pingyao Science and Technology Art Museum. It stood out as the only selected project in North China's Shanxi province.
Located on West Avenue in Pingyao Ancient City, the art museum uses XR, multimedia interactive projection technology, anti-gravity fountain devices, and other cutting-edge technologies to integrate local history and artistic culture into the project theme.
It achieves a deep integration of projection technology and ancient city culture, recreating the prosperity of Pingyao Ancient City over 1,000 years ago. Visitors can witness the changes of time, from sunrise to sunset, and experience the thriving scenes of the ancient city, including architecture, religious culture, art, and culinary customs.
It is understood that the pilot period for national smart tourism projects is two years. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism requires each pilot project to actively achieve innovation in planning and construction, investment and operation, management services, institutional norms, and equipment technology.
