China's first municipal-level green electricity service station was unveiled in Wuxi New District, or Xinwu district, on March 21.
The station is tasked with providing market entities with consultations on green electricity and green electricity certificate trading policies, disseminating information on electricity trading platforms, collecting relevant information, and assisting in conducting compliance and risk management in the electricity market. It also supports training initiatives related to green electricity trading.
Wu Zheng, deputy general manager of State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Co Ltd, emphasized that Wuxi is currently at a crucial stage of industrial transformation and upgrading. With green electricity consumption becoming a standard practice for most export-oriented enterprises, the new service station will be of utmost importance. It will help to further reduce carbon emissions and steadily increase green electricity consumption among Wuxi enterprises, effectively serving the local economy's green and low-carbon transformation.
Chen Shoubin, secretary-general of the Wuxi government, stressed Wuxi's urgent need for green electricity and green electricity certificate trading. He expressed hope that energy suppliers and power companies would optimize the electricity consumption environment, introduce better services, and lower the threshold for green electricity trading.
