Construction begins on new financial data center in Horinger New Area

On March 18, construction began on the data center of China Construction Bank. The center will be located in Horinger New Area of Hohhot, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, and is a key project in China's strategy to channel computing resources from the east to the west.

This project is significant for consolidating the green computing power hub in Horinger New Area, thus creating "China Cloud Valley" and "Financial Cloud Valley". This will also contribute to the development of Hohhot’s regional financial center, the upgrading of the autonomous region's computing power resource layout, and the establishment of a national-level financial data industry park.

The construction of this data center in Horinger New Area aligns with the digital finance, technology finance, and green finance development trends.

With a total investment of 10 billion yuan ($1.39 billion) and an initial investment of 3.75 billion yuan, the first phase of this project will accommodate the deployment of 100,000 servers. Upon completion, the data center's server capacity will reach 300,000 units, which will enhance CCB's overall data center layout to better meet the demands of financial services in the digital era.
