On the evening of March 14, in Nanchang, Jiangxi province, the outstanding performance of the Gannan Caicha Opera, Eight Sons Joining the Red Army, was staged at the Jiangxi Arts Center Grand Theatre. Based on the true story of Yang Rongxian's eight sons from Ruijin, Jiangxi, who all sacrificed their lives on the battlefield during the anti-encirclement campaign during the 1930s, the play has won many awards, including the 14th National Wenhua Award for outstanding dramas of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
