Shanxi integrates development of culture, tourism, health and wellness industries

Shanxi province's department of culture and tourism and department of civil affairs recently jointly issued a 2024 implementation plan for accelerating the construction of several clusters and demonstration areas for culture, tourism, health and wellness.

According to the plan, the construction of 10 clusters and 50 demonstration areas in counties (cities, districts) will be accelerated to form a complete culture, tourism, health and wellness industrial chain.

The involved counties (cities, districts) should take these clusters as benchmarks and effectively utilize incentive funds to boost consumption in the culture, tourism, and health and wellness industries. 

More efforts should be put into promoting the integrated development of the culture, tourism, health and wellness industries with the fields such as sports, leisure, ecotourism, and information technology, constructing a diverse business system with strong competitiveness and influence.

The plan also proposes that each cluster should leverage its resource advantages to build up distinctive development backbones for related tourism products.

Furthermore, exemplary projects in the health and wellness industry should be encouraged to be established through cooperation with well-known domestic and foreign enterprises. 

For the established demonstration areas, the focus should be on implementing infrastructure construction and upgrading supporting service facilities and equipment to enhance overall consumer satisfaction.
