Guizhou and Guangdong forge new partnership for mutual growth

Southwest China's Guizhou province is seeking to deepen exchanges and cooperation with Guangdong province in the coming months.

Lu Yongzheng, head of Guizhou's publicity department, said that the same Pearl River nourishes Guizhou and Guangdong. Cooperation between the two provinces will result in complementary advantages and win-win development.

Lu said he expects to see more and more friends from Guangdong and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area arrive in Guizhou for investment, travel, vacation, work and life.

The GBA has now become the most important source of investment and tourism in Guizhou, Lu said at a tourism promotion conference and new tourism product fair held in the Guangdong provincial capital on Tuesday.

Guizhou is mobilizing its abundant tourism resources to integrate culture into world-class attractions and first-class tourist destinations.

Guizhou expects to join hands with Guangdong to promote its tourism industry and turn the province into the back garden of the GBA, Lu said.

"People from the GBA can now have breakfast in Guangzhou and enjoy delicious Guizhou cuisine for dinner in Guizhou, as the two provinces have been linked by advanced high-speed railway and air routes," he added.

Wang Xi, vice-governor of Guangdong province, said the Guangdong provincial government also expects to further advance cooperation with Guizhou in tourism, investment and trade industries in the coming years.

During the event, relevant departments and companies from Guizhou and Guangdong signed a series of deals to promote cooperation and exchanges in investment, culture, tourism and trade industries.
