In response to the complex international trade situation, and to actively guide and support enterprises in "going global", the Shanxi Provincial Department of Commerce recently issued the "2024 International Market Expansion 'Thousand Enterprises, Hundred Exhibitions' Action Plan."
The plan aims to enhance the international market development capabilities and competitiveness of foreign trade entities. It emphasizes leveraging internationally renowned specialized exhibitions and online platforms to actively guide the province's enterprises on how to create and maintain a stable presence in traditional markets such as the United States, Japan, and Europe.
Additionally, it seeks to comprehensively expand markets involved in the Belt and Road and the RCEP markets, promote market diversification, cultivate new foreign trade entities, and optimize export structures. Other goals are to enhance the digital marketing capabilities of foreign trade enterprises, accelerate the development of foreign trade with Shanxi characteristics, and steadily expand export scales.
According to the plan's overall objectives, the target for the year is to have approximately 1,000 enterprises participating in various exhibitions. The plan also aims for a 5-percent or more year-on-year growth in exports to other RCEP member countries and countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. The province also aims to add at least 250 new import-export enterprises throughout the year.
