This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area, or NETDA, which mobilized local businesses to work together to build a better NETDA at a recent conference.
NEDTA has a history of growing with enterprises, noted Bao Delin, secretary of NETDA's Party Working Committee.
The industries in the area include light, chemistry and chemical engineering, shipbuilding, medicine and health, electronic information, and precision machinery. A modern industrial system backed by new-generation information technology, high-end equipment, medicine and health, and new energy, or "3 plus 1" in short, has taken shape there.
The area has set development goals for the year ahead, including a GDP growth target of at least 8 percent and a total GDP target of over 100 billion yuan ($13.92 billion).
NETDA will also cultivate more leading industrial players to reinforce the development of industrial clusters and advance its three-year plan to develop the service industry.
The area hopes to increase the output value of "3 plus 1" industries by over 20 percent and raise the sales revenue of the service industry to over 380 billion yuan this year.
Bao also pledged to offer local companies more streamlined administrative procedures, convenient services, and preferential policies.
