Quantum technology, low-altitude economy and new quality productive forces became three of most highlighted terms in Hefei's government work report 2024, indicating the city's commitment and developmental direction to its high-tech zone.
Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone, known for nine consecutive years as one of China's top ten national high-tech zones, stands out for its innovative prowess. Occupying only 1.1 percent of the city's land, it contributes 15 percent to Hefei's GDP.

Quantum technology breakthroughs abound in the zone in 2023. The ez-QFridge, the domestic dilution refrigerator, which is vital for superconducting quantum computers, recently achieved international standards. With over 50 quantum enterprises and 30 related companies, the high-tech zone is a hub of quantum science and industry.
Low-altitude economy thrives as well, with over 20 enterprises crafting urban aerial transit networks in the zone. Hefei's strategic focus also extends to aerospace, with nearly 120 aerospace companies forming a comprehensive industrial chain.
Innovation drives Hefei's success, integrating technology, funding, and talent. Its talent attraction program has drawn over 280 projects, yielding 80 percent high-growth enterprises. The policy system introduced in 2024 further boosts the zone’s industrial development, focusing on innovation, efficiency, and a conducive business environment.
The zone's efforts manifest in remarkable growth: 290 new high-growth enterprises emerged in 2023, including 5 unicorns and 50 potential ones, propelling the city towards high-quality development.
