Jiangxi province has steadily promoted rural vitalization and largely contributed to grain production, national legislators said at a group discussion on Wednesday during the ongoing second session of the 14th National People's Congress.

Tang Renjian, a national legislator and the Minister of Agriculture, said Jiangxi is one of the 13 major grain producing areas nationwide and has made great contributions to the steady food supply nationwide.

As the second largest early rice producers in the country, Jiangxi is one of the two provinces in China that hasn't stopped selling grains outside the province, Tang said when attending the panel discussion of the Liaoning delegation to the NPC.

Tang noted that the ministry will support the province in better utilizing straws and promoting specialized rural industries.

Zuo Xiangyun, an NPC deputy and deputy Party chief of Shenshan village in Jinggangshan shared the village's experience in promoting rural vitalization through special rural industries during the discussion.

"These years, villagers have become veterans of planting yellow peaches, tea and developing homestays," Zuo said.

Villagers who would blush when selling tea to tourists years ago now volunteer to brew tea and confidently introduce the tea leaves, he said.

A number of agricultural brands of Jinggangshan have been created for industrialization and the bamboo wine developed by Zuo himself has been selling nationwide, he said.

Companies have been introduced to the village to deeply develop its tourism resources, and visitors have flocked to the newly-ungraded homestay last summer, Zuo said.

Hu Xuemei, a national legislator and the mayor of Jingdezhen, said the city, dubbed as a live textbook of ceramics history and culture, has attracted 3.93 million tourists during the Spring Festival holiday this year and the tourism revenue reached 3 billion yuan ($416 million).

"More than 60,000 visitors at home and abroad have stayed in Jingdezhen, a cultural magnetic field, to fulfill their dreams," Hu said, adding that more than 1,000 international artists have attended events of cultural exchanges in the city.

Jingdezhen Official Ceramic Flagship Store opened in Dubai Mall in September, promoting both porcelain and Chinese culture to the world, Hu said.

"We are confident that we can tell Chinese stories with china products," she said.
