"I suggest strengthening academic exchanges on Mount Tai culture, Dunhuang in Gansu province, and Yungang Grottoes in Datong, Shanxi province, in order to give the world a better understanding of Mount Tai culture and promote the global development of Mount Tai cultural research," said Zhou Ying, a deputy to the National People's Congress and professor at the Mount Tai Research Institute of Taishan University.

Zhou has been dedicated to the research of Mount Tai culture for 40 years and has been effective in strengthening academic research of the unique culture since he was elected as an NPC deputy for the first time last year.

As a well-known scholar of Mount Tai culture, Zhou has published over 10 works on the subject as well as over 300 papers in various high-end academic journals, making him a leading figure in Mount Tai research at home and abroad.

At the end of 2023, his work titled "Chronicles of Mount Tai" was awarded the special prize at the 36th outstanding social science achievements in Shandong, marking a historic breakthrough in Mount Tai academic research.

In addition, Zhou has continued to promote Mount Tai culture on campuses.

"Mount Tai culture is rich and extensive. Preserving and promoting Mount Tai culture is the responsibility and mission bestowed upon us in the new era," Zhou said. Currently, Mount Tai culture is receiving increasing attention from international academics, and foreign scholars have also made significant achievements in Mount Tai cultural research.

"As a cultural scholar living at the foot of Mount Tai, there is a greater responsibility to explore its essence and ensure Mount Tai culture extends beyond Tai'an, reaches the entire country, and eventually the entire world," Zhou added.
