Nantong authorities recently released a three-year action plan to facilitate the high-quality development of cross-border e-commerce, local media outlets reported.

The plan states that Nantong's cross-border e-commerce will make significant breakthroughs in trading scale and talent cultivation. By 2026, the sector's foreign trade value will exceed 10 billion yuan ($1.39 billion) and the city will house eight cross-border e-commerce industrial parks, 10 cross-border e-commerce brands, 15 overseas public warehouses, and 2,000 cross-border e-commerce businesses.

To achieve these goals, Nantong will step up efforts to bring in and cultivate more cross-border e-commerce enterprises and talent, encourage the transformation of traditional foreign trade companies, improve the services provided by cross-border e-commerce enterprises as well as their operation capability, optimize customs clearance, and more.

In 2019, Nantong was approved to establish the comprehensive pilot zone for cross-border e-commerce. After four years of development, Nantong has moved to the forefront of establishing industrial parks, overseas public warehouses as well as renowned brands in Jiangsu province.
